Raising children today is no easy task. Owing to rapid advancement of technology and the, corruption and misinformation are at a peak raising doubts in young minds, giving children ample opportunity to stray from the path of Islam. Therefore, as parents, we are expected to make every effort to inculcate proper Islamic values and principles, and continue to inspire them to strive in the way of Allah.
Muslim parents have a daunting task ahead of us in this day and age. As challenging as is seems, Allah has given us parents a wildcard – that we can invoke Allah’s assistance through Dua to help our children attain success in this world as well as the next. The Duas of parents for their children will never go unanswered – even if made by mistake.
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Three supplications are answered without doubt. The supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of the parent for his son (child).” [At- Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud]
Listed below are Duas for children’s success in the Dunya and Aakhirah:

Dua for Children to Rely on Allah During Difficult Times
Children should be encouraged to recite the following Dua whenever they are faced with a challenging situation (as should parents) — whether it is an exam or any other circumstance that generates fear or anxiety. This is a good Dua for all us to memorize.
اللَّهُمَّ لاَ سَهْلَ إِلاَّ مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلاً، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلاً
Allahumma laa sahla illa ma ja’altahu sahlan, wa anta taj-alul hazna idha shi’ta sahla.
Oh Allah! Nothing is easy except what you have made easy. If you wish, you can make the difficult easy. [Sahih Ibn Hibban]
Dua for Children seeking Allah’s Help in Studies
This short dua was revealed to our Prophet (PBUH) by Allah. Remind your children to recite the below Dua with complete faith in Allah before they begin studying. Since knowledge in this instance is not simply limited to the education children receive at school, you may invite children to supplicate this Dua throughout the day to increase their knowledge in all spheres, especially the spiritual.
رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
Rabbi zidni ‘ilman
Lord, increase me in knowledge. [Surah Taha 20:114]
Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,“When a person dies, all action is cut off for him with the exception of three things: sadaqa which continues, knowledge which benefits, or a righteous child who makes supplication for him.” [Sahih (Al-Albani) – Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 38]
